Julie Georgia Bernard to present Q&A sessions [fr]
French filmmaker Julie Georgia Bernard will attend screenings of Handmade with Love in France as part of the Alliance Française French Film Festival’s “Stars of Tomorrow” program.
After the success of her recent première at the Vancouver International Film Festival, first-time feature filmmaker Julie Georgia Bernard will showcase her documentary Handmade with Love in France during the 2015 French Film Festival. She will present a Q+A session after the Wellington premiere of the film on Sunday 22 March at 2:00pm at the Embassy Theatre.
Julie Georgia Bernard is delighted to be participating in the Alliance Française French Film Festival. “I love New Zealand,” she says, “and it would be such an honour if you like my film.”
Handmade with Love in France is a documentary celebrating the Parisian artisans who create haute couture outfits for the likes of Dior, Yves Saint Laurent and Chanel, and explores what happens when their workshops begin to close their doors.

The Ambassador was delighted to welcome Julie to Wellington, and enjoyed discussing both Julie’s film and opportunities for more creative exchanges between France and New Zealand.
The Stars of Tomorrow programme was set up under the umbrella of the Alliance Française French Film Festival in New Zealand. Every year, an aspiring new French filmmaker or actor will be chosen by the festival team to travel to New Zealand to promote their film and to participate in Q+A sessions and special events.
