Ambassador, Pascal Lamy visit Rotorua with Trade Minister [fr]
Ambassador Florence Jeanblanc-Risler accompanied Pascal Lamy, the chairman of the French committee of the Pacific Economic Cooperation Council, during a visit to Rotorua on July 30 hosted by Trade Minister and MP for Rotorua Todd McClay.
As well as being the former director-general of the World Trade Organisation and interministerial delegate for the French bid to host the 2025 World Expo, Pascal Lamy is a PECC and EU Post-Cotonou 2020 High Level Facilitator.
He has been tasked with engaging Pacific counterparts from the African Caribbean and Pacific (ACP) to present the EU’s Post-Contonou approach.
As well as visiting local geothermal sites and meeting entrepreneurs involved in the region’s sport and tourism industry, the Ambassador and Pascal Lamy were able to speak with New Zealand trade experts, and meet members of Rotorua’s vibrant French community.
The Ambassador sends her thanks to the minister and his team, those involved in the discussions and the local French community.
