Booking a visa appointment
Be sure to read the below information before proceeding to book your appointment.
As the application process includes taking a photo and the ten fingerprints of each applicant, it is not possible to send in a visa application via the post. This also applies to residents of Samoa and the Cook Islands.
Each applicant aged 12 years and over must travel to Wellington to apply for their visa in person. Underage applicants must be accompanied by one of their parents (father or mother) or by their legal guardian.
The only exception applies to applicants of visas for African countries. Applicants for these visas are not required to apply in person at the Consulate of France.
The online visas booking system is run on a 60 day period : you can book an appointment at least 2 months in advance.
You cannot apply for your visa more than three months prior to your intended trip; and no more than six months for Working Holiday visa applicants.
Failing to comply with the three or six month rules will lead to the rejection of your application.

Applicants who attend without a complete application (form + supporting documents) will not be attended to and will subsequently have to book another appointment.
Please make sure you have read all the information and fulfilled the visa requirements before you book an appointment (note that incomplete applications will be rejected).
To lodge your application, you are required to book an appointment via the online booking system, without exception. No booking will be completed at the Consular section in Wellington or by phone.
Please note that, for adults, appointments are booked on the basis of one passport = one appointment, regardless of marital status (de facto or married).
Families (i.e. parents + underage children only) lodging applications for more than 2 people can take 2 appointments (up to 4 persons) or 3 appointments (up to 6 persons).

When time slots are greyed out, it means that all appointments have been taken for theses dates. When a month is fully booked, it no longer appears and the arrow can not be activated.
However, cancellations occur on a regular basis and slots are regularly released ie each week for the following week; so make sure to check the online booking system every day.
As a courtesy to other applicants and visa officers, applicants unable to attend a confirmed interview must amend or cancel their appointment via the online booking system.
Go back to the section “scheduling an appointment”. Click the category where you previously scheduled your appointment then select “revoir son rendez-vous”.
Applicants who arrive late except force majeure won’t be attended to and will have to book another appointment.
Multi-bookings will be cancelled without notice.
