France shows solidarity with Papua New Guinea following the 7.6 earthquake that struck the country, a neighbour of New Caledonia.

A magnitude 7.6 earthquake shook the East of Papua New Guinea on Sunday 11 September.

France stands in solidarity with Papua New Guinea and is ready to send help from New Caledonia to address any requirements and needs expressed by the local authorities.

The crisis and support center of the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs, in conjunction with the French Embassy in Port Moresby, is following the evolution of the situation.

The delegated minister in charge of the overseas territories, who is on site, ensures the total mobilisation of the French government in New Caledonia.
