French Ambassador participates in Waitangi Day events [fr]

From February 4-6, Sylvaine Carta-Le Vert, Ambassador of France in New Zealand, represented France at the official 2019 Waitangi Day ceremony at Te Tii Marae and the Waitangi Treaty Grounds.

The ceremony marked New Zealand’s national day, which commemorates the first signing of the Treaty of Waitangi in 1840.

The Ambassador was present at a reception held for members of the diplomatic corps by the Deputy Prime Minister Winston Peters as well as the Royal New Zealand Navy’s Beat Retreat ceremony.

On February 6, in Wellington, she attended the Bledisloe Waitangi Day Garden Reception organised at the Government House by Dame Patsy Reddy, Governor-General of New Zealand.
