New Caledonia participates in Victoria University’s 2018 Student Exchange Fair [fr]
A representative of the University of New Caledonia (UNC), the French University based in Nouméa, will be in New Zealand on the occasion of the 2018 Victoria University of Wellington (VuW) Student Exchange Fair held on April 10, 2018.
Gwenaëlle Renaud, Director, University of New Caledonia’s Office of Research, Doctoral Studies and International Partnerships, will be attending the Student Exchange Fair on April 10 held at Victoria University of Wellington, before crossing the ditch to attend the Australian Student Fair, to reinforce UNC’s attractiveness in New Zealand, by focusing on the University’s experience and strengths in developing:
- inter-universities exchanges,
- scientific collaboration on joint research programs,
- French language teaching (Français langue étrangère) at Tertiary Education level, through the “Universités d’été et d’hiver” (Summer and Winter Universities).
Gwenaëlle Renaud is proud of recalling that UNC has signed 3 memorandum of understanding with New Zealand universities, e.g., the University of Auckland, VUW, and Wakaito university, and that a fourth arrangement is currently being negotiated with theUniversity of Canterbury.
In addition to attending VuW’s Student Exchange Fair, Gwenaëlle Renaud will meet three representatives of the French Embassy in Wellington - Mr Stephane Re, Cultural and Scientific Counsellor, Ms Pascale Seignolles, Attaché for French Language Teaching, and Dr Jessica Roche, Science and Innovation Officer.
She will also meet with Dr Yves Lafoy, Official Representative of New Caledonia to New Zealand, based at the French Embassy, to discuss UNC’s potential contribution to the Joint Cooperation Plan signed in September 2016 between the New Caledonia and New Zealand governments, in the fields of education and tertiary education on the one hand, and research and innovation on the other hand.
