Located in Wellington and created in 2001, the Randell Cottage Writers Residence provides a six-month residency each year to a French and NZ writer respectively. The call for applications for 2018 is open until June 30, 2017.

Located in Wellington and created in 2001, the Randell Cottage Writers Residence provides a six-month residency each year to a French and NZ writer respectively. The call for applications for 2018 is open until June 30, 2017.
It enjoys joint support from the Embassy of France in New Zealand and the France-New Zealand Friendship Fund.

This Residence offers a French writer the chance to stay in historic Randell Cottage, at the heart of New Zealand’s political and cultural capital, and to experience the historical and cultural richness of this fascinating country, as well as its abundant and diverse literary heritage.

Numerous French writers have benefited from the Residence: Charles Juliet (2003), Pierre Furlan (2004), Dominique Mainard (2005), Annie Saumont (2006), Nicolas Kurtovitch (2007), Olivier Bleys (2008), Fariba Hachtroudi (2009), Yann Apperry (2010-2011), Florence Cadier (2011), Estelle Nollet (2013), Thanh-Van Tran-Nhut (2014), David Fauquemberg (2015), Nicolas Fargues (2016), Josef Schovanec (2017).
