Science - 1st General Assembly of FAST! on Nov. 24 [fr]
Launched in July 2017, France Aotearoa Science Technology and !nnovation is a newly not-for-profit New Zealand Incorporated Society that aims at fostering French-New Zealand scientific collaboration. The first General Assembly of FAST! will be held on November 24 at Victoria University of Wellington and registrations are now open!
Through different shared projects, scientific collaboration between France and New Zealand has proved to be a major aspect of the bilateral relationship and the French scientific community largely increased in the past 10 years.
For instance, in November, we will celebrate the 12th anniversary of the Dumont d’Urville Research mobility programme established by the NZ Ministry of Business Innovation and Employment, the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Research and Higher Education. It finances about five projects yearly and more than 60 projects have been funded since its inception.
In order to support the French-New Zealand scientific collaboration that is still on the rise, the French Embassy has financially supported the creation of FAST!
FAST! is open to all science and technology minded people – from New Zealand, France and French territories in Pacific - with a desire to stimulate communication and to enhance the exchange in science and innovation work to support the Society whether in New Zealand or in France.
The newly not-for-profit New Zealand Incorporated Society aims to offer more visibility to the Science and research community.
The first General Assembly will be held on November 24 at Victoria University of Wellington. FAST! can count on the support of several scientists representing a wide spectrum of research and innovation institutions in New Zealand such as GNS Science, National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research, Plant and Food Research Ltd, University of Auckland, University of Canterbury, University of Otago, Callaghan Innovation and the Department of Conservation .
