Seminar dedicated to New-Caledonian exports to New-Zealand [fr]
A “Path to Market” seminar dealing with trade between New Zealand and New Caledonia will take place in the New Caledonia capital Noumea on November 2.
Jointly organised by regional agency Pacific Islands Trade & Invest (PT&I) and the Delegation of New Caledonia to New Zealand, based in the Embassy of France in Wellington, this seminar is dedicated to the export of New Caledonian products and services to New Zealand.
Participants in the “Path to Market” seminar will discuss the expertise necessary for any business hoping to export to New Zealand, particularly for New Caledonia’s key sectors, namely processing industries (food processing and construction), services, tourism and joint ventures.
Difficulties potential New Caledonian exporters may encounter will also be covered at the seminar, which PT&I will deliver in English in the presence of a translator.
The seminar will take place in the lead-up to the Pacific Business Forum in Noumea, which will be held under the high patronage of French President François Hollande from November 3 to 5.
Several New Zealand businesses as well as the France New Zealand Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FNZCCI) will be present at the Pacific Business Forum which will bring together 10 countries from the Asia-Pacific region.
New Caledonia has the third highest GDP per capita in the Pacific region, and is New Zealand’s number three Pacific export market. In the 2014-2015 financial year, New Zealand’s exports to New Caledonia totalled NZD152.4 million.
