Te Ataata Residency [fr]
The Cultural Office of the French Embassy in New Zealand and Auckland University of Technology have jointly created a residency programme for a French creative practitioner to be hosted every year at Colab in Auckland since 2015.
The Te Ataata (shadow, reflection, virtual in Te Reo) residency enables the development of new initiatives and joint collaborations. It allows a French creative professional to come to New Zealand for a period of 8 to 12 weeks and includes international return airfares, accommodation and a stipend of NZ$1000 per week.
Applicants from art, design or engineering backgrounds, who demonstrate a strong engagement in new media and hybrid practices, working in emergent areas using creative technologies are welcomed.
Colab is a collaboratory for creative technologies research, teaching and experimental practice at Auckland University of Technology. Colab is engaged in both academic and public programmes, supporting the development and showcasing of digital and new media art forms and linking with key cultural and scientific organisations to foster and promote dialogue and exchange.
