Ambassador Sylvaine Carta Le-Vert [fr]

Mrs Sylvaine Carta-Le Vert took office in Wellington as Ambassador (designate) on 7th September 2018.

She previously served as the French General Consul in London from September 2015.

Mrs Carta-Le Vert started working for the « Ministère des Affaires étrangères » in 1980. During her career, she has been Second secretary to the Permanent Mission of France to the United Nations in Geneva, First secretary in Beirut, First secretary to the Permanent Representation of France to NATO in Brussels, Auditor to the Royal College of Defense studies and Second Counsellor at the French Embassy on London.

Mrs Carta-Le Vert served in several departments in the « Ministère des Affaires étrangères ». Mrs Carta-Le Vert spent two years working for the ministry of Defense with the NavalChief of staff (2007-2009). She also was inspector of the « Ministère des Affaires étrangères » from 2009 to 2011. Prior to her arrival in London, Mrs Carta-Le Vert was Consul General of France in Zurich.

Born in 1955, Mrs CartaLe Vert graduated from the Institute of Political Science and has a bachelor degree in History from the University of Aix-en-Provence.

She is married with two adult children.

Mrs Carta-Le Vert is Officier de la Légion d’honneur and Officier de l’Ordre National du Mérite.
