Inauguration of President Emmanuel Macron [fr]
Emmanuel Macron has been inaugurated as President of France at a ceremony in the Elysée Palace on May 14.
The ceremony follows his election as President in the second round of the presidential election on May 7.

In a speech following the ceremony, the new President affirmed the values and principles of democracy and the French Republic. The President also emphasised the importance of France’s role in the world, which he said included responding to major international challenges including climate change, economic issues and terrorism.
"We are all interdependent. We are all neighbours," the President said.
The President also reaffirmed France’s commitment to the defence of liberty and human rights, as well as building lasting peace.
The President will appoint a new Prime Minister on Monday (French time). The announcement of a new cabinet is scheduled for Wednesday.
The President is also scheduled to meet Chancellor of the Federal Republic of Germany Angela Merkel in Berlin on Monday.
