Missions of the Cooperation Office [fr]
The Cooperation Office of the Embassy of France in New Zealand, Cook Islands and Samoa is responsible for fostering cultural, scientific and educational relations between France and New Zealand.
The Cooperation Office is primarily concerned with strengthening partnerships between key institutions, supporting joint research projects, developing and promoting teaching of the French language, encouraging exchanges of artists and creative professionals and facilitating dialogue around major shared contemporary issues.
The main missions of the Cooperation Office include expanding French contemporary artistic creations and cultural industries such as literature, visual arts, digital arts and cinema; encouraging intellectual discussions; supporting teaching of French as a second language in the local education system and via the Alliances Françaises language institutes network; and furthering university and scientific cooperation between higher education institutions and the implementation of bilateral research projects.
These actions are implemented in partnership with a variety of French institutions such as the Institut français, an agency of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs responsible for promoting French culture around the world, and Campus France, an agency in charge of promoting international mobility and study opportunities in France.
