Charles Juliet

Charles Juliet was the second French writer, after Nadine Ribault in 2002, to be awarded the residency which is made possible through the generosity of the Price family, who donated the cottage in Thorndon, and the New Zealand/France Friendship Fund, which provides the scholarship in conjunction with the French Embassy.

Charles Juliet is a 68 year-old poet and novelist who shares his time between Lyon in central France and the nearby village of Jujurieux where he was born. A great admirer of Katherine Mansfield, Charles Juliet also loves the game of rugby.
